Our production team and purpose

The team

Join Angelina, Michael, and Dan as they engage leaders, intellectuals, and change-makers on the tough but essential topics and pressing issues of our day.

Angelina Burkholder

Angelina Burkholder

Show Host

Angelina Burkholder is a writer who enjoys puzzles, black coffee, and stories told around the dinner table. When she’s not kneading dough, reading memoir, or walking the dog, she’s likely trash-talking opponents in board games or color-coordinating the closet. Occasionally she and her husband pretend to be stand-up comedians in a routine that will likely require a lifetime of work.

Michael Sapiro

Show Host

Michael Sapiro used to split his days between rock’n’roll and studying philosophy (for a brief period of time in Switzerland), but now he’s much more interested in hanging out with his kids and wife, cooking supper, and thinking about how to keep deer out of his garden. He enjoys reading about philosophy, theology, and nature and listening to podcasts along similar lines. He also enjoys YouTube yoga and watching music videos from the 90s while on his elliptical machine.

Dan Baker

Dan Baker

Show Host
Dan was born in the 70s in rural Wisconsin surrounded by corn fields. Today he lives with his family in Milwaukee’s tuba & paletería district. He’s a published poet, film critic for Cinema Faith and does anti-racism work with Bridge Builders.

The show

How should a Christian respond to the tense and divisive climate of our day?

The Living Uncommon podcast is an effort by three folks who don’t always agree on every question, but want to explore the Christian’s role in the social, political, and religious conversations together.

Let your conversation be gracious and “seasoned with salt” so that you will have the right response for everyone. – Colossians 4:6 (NLT)

With Colossians 4:6 in mind, we hope to encourage the Christian community to enter into these conversations, no matter how confusing, difficult, or frustrating they may be. Even though we may be divided in thought, we can be united by uncommon grace as we seek to understand each other.
